The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye, Bazzill, Fancy Pants, We R Memory Keepers. The glitter paper is Doodlebug. The rub-on is Cosmo Cricket. And the toothpick is from my kitchen (in case you were wondering). The jewels are Heidi Swapp and I am almost out. And so is every crafty/scrapbook store in town. I hope they get them in soon. I am finding it difficult to live without bling people. I just need one package before I start to convulse. No, I'm not an addict. I don't have a problem. I'm not in denial. Really. Also, I never thought I'd use the word "bling". OK, maybe it's a little problem.
The paper is K & Co., My Mind's Eye, and Basic Grey. The ribbon is American Crafts and the "soar" sticker is Chatterbox. The tree and the bird I drew and cut out by hand. I know this is very old stuff people but I am really trying to burn up my stash. My new project stuff budget is pretty tight these day you know. Especially since I have since discovered that I NEEEEED a Cricut. I never thought that I would utter those words. I naively assumed that it would be a $400 paperweight but I have since discovered the error of my ways. The only snag is that my sewing machine is 3 years older than I am (that means that this is it's 40 year anniversary, no kidding) and really, really, really needs to be replaced. I use that thing almost every day and so it is higher on the priorities right now. I've started a change jar for the sole purpose of replacing my machine and I'm up to approximately $1.47. Only $398.53 to go! Hope it holds out to it's 50 year anniversary at that rate. So I guess it's "draw and cut" for me for awhile longer, sorry Cricut. One day. Well, I'm off to enjoy my Tuesday. Hope you enjoy yours too.

This is the colors for this week, and even though the deadline to post them on her blog was already past, I decided to take this challenge too. Here's my take on the color challenge:This card uses just about every kind of paper there is. Still using up those scraps. But I love how it turned out and even though I went to bed at a very unreasonable hour, I loved every minute of it and I can't wait for Melissa's challenge for today. Well, I'm off to get some housework accomplished.

It says "Bright Hope" and that is my prayer for those in my country tonight and I continue to pray for President Obama and the other government leaders. Support and unity regardless of who we voted for will only make our country stronger despite our differences.
"The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness." -President Barack Obama, Inauguration Speech
Well, Jenny and I were having too much fun to quit so I came home late Saturday night for church and Alexis' baptism orientation and I turned around and left again on Monday morning. Alexis, Jake and I went for more project fun. I had a ton of old Valentine papers and embellishments and we all know about my scrap situation, so I decided to make some 3x3 little love notes. I plan on putting them in lunches and other secret places to spread a little love during Valentine's. They turned out pretty cute. Alexis decided she would like to join in the Valentine making and she made these cute little Valentine's for her friend and her mom and dad. She's so great. She's quite the creative girl herself. I just love her.
She's pretty excited to have her projects on my blog. I'm pretty excited to put them there for her. Well, I have to go. I have been glued to the inauguration coverage all day and I'll post more on that later.

The papers are from Fancypants, We R Memory Keepers, and Cosmo Cricket. The flowers are Prima. The letter stickers are Making Memories. The trim is American Crafts. I am loving the turquoise. Think I'll have to do more with that. Goodnight friends.
"The Mountain Man Delivery Service" as they called themselves. I thought more like ZZ Top. These guys are the best no matter what they're called. I had to hug them in fact. I was so happy to see them.
We had a few 6th grade boys come and help us unload the truck. They were so helpful. This guy let me take his picture. 6th grade boys are apparently camera shy. Who knew?
The Idaho Food Bank has volunteers fill grocery bags with the food for each backpack. This is what 114 backpack bags look like. That will get our school through 1 month. You can even get a group together and go to Pocatello to fill bags. I think it sounds like a great time. Maybe I just don't know what fun is.
This is what's in each backpack bag. Shelf stable milk (which I didn't even know existed until I learned about Backpack), 100% juice, beans and franks, beef stew, Easy Mac, ramen noodles, 2 cereal packages, applesauce, 2 peanut butter crackers, 2 raisins, and 4 small peanut butters. Not exactly 6 squares but will help them through the weekend.
I'm so excited to finally have it here. I didn't really think this was a big problem in Idaho. I was pretty naive. 93% of this one little elementary school qualifies for free and reduced lunch. That means their families are at or below the poverty line. Of those kids it looks like we will need to provide backpacks to 26 kids so far. But I expect it to go up. That's 26 kids who don't eat! I am working hard to make sure the Idaho Food Bank gets the funding it needs to keep these sweet kids in food. You just never know what a child will become. Some of them just need a little help in seeing and fulfilling their potential. Hopefully their backpacks will provide them with that and most of all let them have hope. Can't wait to see their faces on Friday!

222 clear hole reinforcers?
150 sheets of cardstock?
75 sheets of patterned paper?
6 binder rings?
2 refills on the distressing ink?
2 months and a stack that looks like this? And yes, the catastrophe in the background is my desk.
The Answer: Three of these guys:
Hallelujah! The calendars are done! I swear these things are kinda like being pregnant. You seem to forget how hard it is until you can't go back. You only remember the joy. And this year was one setback after another. They have never been late before. In fact, I hate late. Late makes me crazy. That explains why I am doing the happy dance now that I am on my way to deliver these little gems to their rightful owners. Now I can see if I can find my desk underneath all of the glue dots, tools, paper scraps, etc. And speaking of paper scraps, since these are 8x8 and paper is 12x12, I am going to have to work on a TON of cards to use up all of these scraps. I have 150 4x12 scraps and 150 4x8 scraps. Look forward to lots of small projects from me for a while. My scrap bin is about to explode and Whoa, Nelly...if that happens my family will be buried under all of the debris. A call would have to made to Search and Rescue. Since I have to clean off my desk before I start a new project, (just a little OCD) I have to get it done because I've got some good stuff floating around in my head that I am needing to get started on. Well, off I go to spread some Christmas joy, in January. Merry Christmas Mom and Dad and Grandma and Grandpa! I love you tons!

June-Everybody except the baby and they're sitting relatively still!
September- Oh man! Do I love this dog or what? This is one of the most hilarious pictures and if you knew this kid you'd especially laugh. Goofy, is one of his talents.
January- I just love these cute boys.

This is a little "fat" purse sized notebook. Most of the paper is "Dreamy 2" (which I love). So thank you Mrs. Walker! We love you!
This tote was so much fun to make. The pattern is McCalls #5598. The rose and leaves, I had to figure out on my own. I had to come up with a pattern for them.
