Let Your Light Shine

I've been working on this little journal page for a couple of weeks now. I knew I wanted to add a quote but nothing seemed right until the other day when I was reading my friend, Chris' blog and she had this one posted on the side. I had never noticed it before (I don't know why) but that day I did and I knew immediately where it belonged. Then when I began to glue down the words, I knew again that this was where it belonged because, it fit perfectly on the collagey (made up that word) area (which by the way, the little guy I was watching last week informed me was "the color of poo". Everyone's a critic). I LOVE this quote and since it is pretty small, here it is:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear it that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; It's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." -Nelson Mandela

Great quote, huh? Thanks Chris for this and the inspiration. Not only did it finish this little page but gave me an idea for the next one I have started. You are the best!
