A Cupcake Kind of Day

There was definately a theme forming to my weekend. And that is cupcakes. My sweet husband took the afternoon off to come home early so I could leave for Jenny's earlier. Yes, I know, he's the best. So, as soon as I got the backpacks passed out I was able to get on the road. She only lives 25 miles away but it's a big deal to get to spend a few days to do projects together. We did consume the entire batch of Bolivian Salsa (although Jenny's husband loved it and ate more than us all). He liked it so much, he was a major contributor to our whipping up another batch yesterday. When I got there, Jenny had been invited to a "Simply Fun" party, so we decided to go and the girl who was hosting it had to cutest cupcake napkins which put me in the cupcake spirit. I went back to Jenny's and started a cupcake card. I think I am the only card maker on the planet who hasn't made a cupcake card yet but I think it turned out pretty cute. The patterned paper is Bo Bunny Press, Kaleidoscope, and K & Co. The glitter paper is Doodlebug. The rub-ons are American Crafts. Then yesterday, we went to The Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe. Man sakes! I am loving that place. I am glad that it is in Rexburg or I would be in trouble. I had the best hot chocolate I've ever had in my life and a "Better Than Whatever" (Rexburg is so Rexburg) cupcake. It came in this cute little box and it was awesome. They have different cupcakes daily so I'm going to have to hit it on another day to check out some of the others.

I liked mine so much, I had to go back and pick up one for my husband (I owed him big time) and my daughter (they had Pumkin chocolate chip with cream cheese frosting and that's her favorite). I like my cupcake card so much I decided to make another when we got back.

Patterned paper is K & Co., We R Memory Keepers and Daisy D's. Glitter paper is Doodlebug. Button is courtesy of Jenny's Grandma EchoHawk (it's very vintage). And for a little bit of sunshine:
The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye, Fancypants. Letter stickers are Making Memories. Ribbon is Offray. Little ring thing is Karen Foster. Buttons are SEI. Can't remember the chipboard "sunshine"
Gotta put my kids to bed. Goodnight.

  2. Sorry to tell you this but the have a stand at the mall so you are much closer to the cupcakes than you think. It is right by the Motherhood store before you hit Old Navy. I have not had a whole one, but they do give out samples and they are awesome! Glad you had a fun weekend and your cards are cute. You will have to let me know how the backpacks went.

Might have to cave and give those cupcakes a try...I look at the one on your blog and so wish I could reach in and grab it and just gobble it up along with a tall, ice cold, glass of milk!
